Here is the general breakdown of the name and types of tubes -

Ballast Compatible / Magic Tubes: These tubes can be used with over about 90% of the existing electrical T8 and T5 ballasts out there in the market.  If you have an existing fixture with T8's in there now, simply unscrew the fluroescent lamps and install these. Click Here

Direct-Wire / Ballast Bypass: The electrical circuit wires directly to the lamp itself. If you have an existing T8 or T5 ballast, this must be bypassed or removed completely. Click Here
